Driver Charged in St. Vital Rollover Crash

Winnipeg Police CrestA 29-year-old man has been charged after two passengers in his vehicle were injured early Sunday in St. Vital.

Winnipeg police responded to the single-vehicle crash at around 3:20 a.m. in the area of Bishop Grandin Boulevard and St. Mary’s Road.

The vehicle was travelling eastbound on Bishop Grandin when it went off the road and collided with a light standard, rolling several times.

Two men riding as passengers were taken to hospital, one in unstable condition and the other in critical.

Witnesses told police they saw a man walking away from the crash.

At around 4 p.m. the same day, police arrested Derron Orlando Brown at his home. He has been charged with two counts of failing to stop at the scene of an accident involving bodily harm.
