A Winnipeg mother has been charged in connection with the death of her two-month-old daughter.
The child was admitted to hospital April 27 after suffering suspicious injuries. She died the next day.
Police say the child was injured in a residence in the River Park South area of the city.
The Child Abuse Unit’s investigation involved numerous interviews and an autopsy.
Mervat Azmy Dimitry, 44, was formally charged with second-degree murder on Tuesday. She is the child’s biological mother and remains in custody.
