The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have fired special teams coordinator Pat Tracey from the football club.
“Decisions like these are never easy to make, but at this juncture in our season and what has transpired to date, we felt this was for the betterment of the organization moving forward,” head coach Mike O’Shea said in a brief statement.
O’Shea will oversee the special teams for the remainder of the season.
The Bombers suffered a 37-19 loss to the rival Saskatchewan Roughriders last Sunday at the Labour Day Classic. Both teams meet again on Saturday for the Banjo Bowl at Investors Group Field.
Winnipeg is 3-7 this season, sitting just above Saskatchewan for second last place in the west.
