Students at the University of Winnipeg will try their hardest to scale a giant rock on the front lawn of campus today.
The 44th annual Duckworth Great Rock Climb features teams of three who race to scale the 25-ton granite “rock of remembrance.
The record of 9.8 seconds still stands as set in 1979.
The rock climb takes place from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. in front of 515 Portage Avenue.
Education minister James Allum, Wolseley MLA Rob Altemeyer and Jino Distasio, associate VP of research and innovation at the U of W will also be in attendance.
