Winter is inevitable and even though we’re only in September, the Winnipeg Art Gallery wants you to be thinking about winter fashion.
The WAG’s annual fashion show is switching seasons this year, with What to Wear this Winter (WTWTW) on Thursday, September 24.
The show is being presented in collaboration with the Nunavut Arts and Craft Association and Danali.
WTWTW will feature fashion runways in six of the WAG’s galleries against a backdrop of art spanning centuries from Baroque to Abstraction. A first for the WAG, models will showcase pieces from five designers out of Nunavut, incorporating a wide range of colour, textiles, and prints in their designs, including authentic sealskin.
Doors open at 6 p.m. with the show beginning at 7 p.m. Tickets are $60 or $50 for WAG members and can be purchased at WAG.ca, the WAG front desk (300 Memorial Boulevard), or Danali at 100 Kenaston Boulevard.
The evening will feature a champagne reception with hors d’oeuvres, and a cash bar.
