WINNIPEG — A boy is in hospital in stable condition following a stabbing at Westdale Junior High on Monday afternoon.
The 14-year-old victim was in shop class when another student allegedly threw a knife at him, according to reports.
The school was placed on lockdown for a short time before the suspect could be arrested.
Winnipeg police say they have apprehended another 14-year-old boy in connection to the incident.
Pembina Trails School Division superintendent Ted Fransen said that the student was stabbed with an X-Acto knife. Police haven’t confirmed the type of weapon that was used.
Westdale Junior High is located within the Pembina Trails School Division.
