The second season of the made-in-Winnipeg mini series “WindCity” is hitting the Internet in October.

The locally-produced digital sitcom meant to boost tourism to the city by showcasing Winnipeg’s hotspots and most-visited tourist attractions.

“We targeted season one to a Winnipeg audience as a way to celebrate our city and boost local pride,” said creator Paul Vieira.

“With the success of the first season, we wanted to take the next step and extend the message beyond our borders. We’re pushing the story to a new level that we feel will draw in a wider audience in different markets.”

One of the anchors of the new season will once again be the expansion of the RBC Convention Centre, which is prominently shown in the series.

“The business of attracting meetings and conventions to a city is highly competitive and we realize that when convention organizers decide where to hold their next event, they choose the destination first,” said Klaus Lahr, president and CEO of the RBC Convention Centre.

Season two will be screened at a red carpet event and reception in Ottawa next month.
