Awesome Race for Breath

An upcoming fundraiser for the Manitoba Lung Association will have runners using their brain power to crack puzzles.

The Awesome Race for Breath takes place in Brandon on Saturday, October 24 and raises funds for people coping with lung disease.

“We wanted something fun and familiar as a fundraising event,” said Gail Campbell, Westman event coordinator. “It’s a race, but it’s hardly a test of anyone’s athletic ability.”

Campbell says the event is based on the popular TV series “The Amazing Race.”

The race will have up to 40 teams of two dashing around pit stops across Brandon. Each stop, hosted by a local business, will have a challenge for entrants to complete before they can continue racing.

Entry is free, but each team must raise at least $200 before they can participate.

The early registration deadline is September 19.
