Polar Bear Town

Polar Bear Town is produced by Merit Motion Pictures. (HANDOUT)

A new documentary series airing on OLN will give viewers a look inside the remote Manitoba community of Churchill and the migration of polar bears to the area every fall.

“Polar Bear Town” is a half-hour series featuring Kelsey Eliasson, who guides his clients amongst the majestic bears.

The show also stars “bear whisperer” Dennis Compayre — known for guiding around some of the world’s most acclaimed nature photographers in the area — and Brian Ladoon, who isn’t a guide, but operates a roadside attraction where his Eskimo dog kennel attracts curious bears and cash-toting tourists.

Churchill sees 1,000 seal-starved polar bears migrate every fall, when the population explodes from 800 to 10,000 as tourists begin arriving.

“Polar Bear Town” will premiere Tuesday, September 22 at 8 p.m. CT on OLN.
