The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority has appointed a new president and CEO.
Milton Sussman will oversee all aspects of the WRHA effective October 15.
Sussman was — until earlier Wednesday — the clerk of the executive council, the province’s highest-ranking civil servant. His retirement was announced in a provincial press release within an hour of his new position being made public.
“Milton has a wealth of experience in senior administrative roles across health-care, government, and the not-for-profit sector,” said Dr. Jerry Gray, chair of the board of directors.
“He has a keen understanding of our organization and of the health system both provincially and nationally.”
Interim president and CEO Lori Lamont will return to her previous position as vice-president, interprofessional practice and chief nursing officer for the WRHA.
Arlene Wilgosh, the organization’s previous president and CEO, retired in the spring.
