A photo exhibit curated with 4,000 snapshots is highlighting the positives of Winnipeg’s downtown.
The #finditdowntown photo exhibit is on display at Portage Place Shopping Centre with thousands of user-submitted photos via social media. The exhibit also includes shots from 15 photographers, both novice and experienced.
“With our marketing campaign this year, we have invited Winnipeggers to take photos of their favourite experiences downtown — and from looking at what’s been submitted online, the compelling moments that people took part in are plenty,” said Stefano Grande, executive director of the Downtown Winnipeg BIZ.
The goals of the BIZ campaign are to market downtown Winnipeg as a destination to dine, shop, and attend events in the core, while also positioning the area as a vibrant, emerging district.
“Whether it is our thriving arts and theatre scene, a concert or sporting event, or an evening submersed in our nightlife, visitors are always spending money at local businesses, enjoying a positive downtown experience that will keep them coming back,” Grande added.
The exhibits runs October 8-30 on the first floor beside the mall’s water fountain.
