Winnipeg police have charged two people they say were selling fentanyl, a narcotic analgesic and sedative that can sometimes become fatal.
It’s the first such fentanyl-related trafficking arrest in the city.
Police arrested two suspects on Tuesday in the 200 block of St. Anne’s Road.
They seized 81 grams of fentanyl powder, 25 hydromorphine pills, five restoril pills, six fentanyl pills (80mg), and drug paraphernalia. The estimated value of the drugs seized is $10,000.
Grayson Richard Parris, 36, and Lauren Sara Zegarac, 33, have been charged with several drug trafficking offences and remain in custody.
