The Viterra Championship, as it will now be called, signal a new partnership between CurlManitoba and the Regina-based grain company.
The deal replaces Safeway as the title sponsor of the Manitoba Men’s Curling Championship for the next two years.
“Competitors and curling fans alike can look forward to the Viterra Championship with anticipation that our relationship with Viterra will help maintain and even enhance an already exceptional championship event,” said CurlManitoba executive director Craig Baker.
Safeway pulled out as the provincial sponsor after 21 years to pursue other community initiatives and marketing opportunities.
The first Viterra Championship will take place at the Selkirk Recreation Centre February 9-14, 2016.
