A new addictions recovery centre in Gimli is opening on Friday, offering intervention, client transport, extended care, sober living and home return.
The Aurora Recovery Centre will house 72 beds, 16 of which will be for medical detox and the remaining being gender-specific in order to deter fraternization.
“This centre was envisioned originally to transform lives and families by a group of people who truly were leaders in the addictions community and sadly they are not all here today to see this amazing facility come to completion,” said Dr. Ian Rabb.
The 24/7 centre will offer client intake, minimizing wait times for critical clients identified and ready for treatment.
