Wine drinkers will be in high spirits this weekend as The Forks hosts the International Wine Festival of Manitoba.

Festival-goers are able to sample fine wines, cognacs, aperitifs, as well as cheeses.

Organizer Mo Razik says the goal of the three-day festival is to share knowledge of the wine industry with the public to help them better enjoy the beverage.

“We want people to feel confident in exploring new products and in the purchases they make,” the owner of Fenton’s Wine Merchants said.

“There are featured wines from across the globe and the Festival is sure to offer something to for everyone’s palate.”

Live jazz music by local artists will be featured, plus seminars with a variety of wine experts. Net proceeds are donated to Winnipeg Harvest.
