The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have partnered with the provincial government on a public education campaign to end violence against women.
Coach and former player Buck Pierce and cornerback Matt Bucknor will be included in the campaign.
“Violence against women is a men’s issue. As community leaders, we are fortunate enough to have a platform to champion this cause,” said Wade Miller, Blue Bombers president and CEO.
The football club will also lead more than 100 workshops in schools surrounding the issue.
The Break the Silence on Violence Against Women project is a continuation of the 2012 public awareness campaign by the two organizations.
