MovemberThe time of year where men everywhere grow creepy-looking moustaches is once again here.

Movember officially kicks off Sunday, November 1, but to prepare for the big event, a shave off event will happen this morning at the University of Manitoba.

“We’re very excited to be partnering with the University of Manitoba for this year’s Celebrity Shave Off,” said Movember Winnipeg co-chair Jamie Hopkins.

“The opportunity to launch our campaign to change the face of men’s health — one student ‘stache at a time — is one that we believe will be the biggest we have seen in Winnipeg.”

Organizers are encouraging all “Mo Bros” and “Mo Sistas” from the U of M to register for the opportunity to win prizes.

The month-long campaign is a fundraiser and helps spread awareness of men’s health issues. Teams or individuals can sign up at Movember.com to keep track of donations and officially be a member of the campaign.
