Music, Food and Dance Encompass Folk Fest in the City

Winnipeg Folk FestivalA reinvented fundraiser for the Winnipeg Folk Festival will be one giant party.

Folk Fest in the City is the organization’s annual charity event, combining music, food, and dancing to support the year-round community programs the Folk Festival offers.

Chef Eraj Jayawickreme will serve up inspired cuisine from Louisiana, Cape Breton and Mexico at curated food stations.

Three bands will represent each of the folk scenes of the night, including The Mariachi Ghost, Bart House Band and Dirty Catfish Brass Band.

A silent auction will include prizes of a trip to Churchill courtesy of Frontiers North Adventures and VIA Rail Canada, box seats to watch the Winnipeg Jets host the Dallas Stars on February 26 at MTS Centre, and a six-night stay at the Lake Louise Inn.

Folk Fest in the City is Friday, November 20 at The Fairmont Winnipeg. Tickets are $150 each or a table of 10 is $1,500. For more information, call (204) 231-0096 ext. 232.
