Man, 24, Identified in Kenaston Police Shooting

Winnipeg Police CrestWinnipeg police have confirmed the man who was shot by officers on Friday afternoon has died.

Mark Dicesare, 24, was involved in what police are calling a “high profile” incident at the corner of Kenaston Boulevard and Grant Avenue.

About 18 cruiser cars surrounded the area shortly after 1 p.m. as part of a police pursuit of the suspect. A white Audi sedan was seen in an empty field south of Lipsett Hall with bullet holes in its body and passenger window.

Decesare was administered CPR at the scene, but succumbed to his injuries.

The Independent Investigation Unit of Manitoba (IIU) is investigating the incident where officers are involved in a serious incident either on or off duty.

No further details on the case have been released.
