A 20-year-old man is facing weapons charges after dropping a gun and ammunition while attempting to run from Winnipeg police.
Officers were on patrol Friday night in the area of Wellington Avenue and Simcoe Street when they spotted a known man trying to run away.
The suspect ran between two houses and dropped an unloaded Smith and Wesson .357 handgun with six rounds of .38 calibre ammunition.
