Winnipeg police have charged two men in connection with a fatal shooting behind the Osborne Village Motor Inn on Saturday morning.
Paul Joseph Thorne, 36, was shot when a drug deal turned bad with another group at around 12:30 a.m. in 400 block of Stradbrook Avenue.
Police say Thorne and two others were at the rear of the building for a pre-arranged meeting when a dispute erupted with two men. One of the suspects took out a gun, firing in Thorne’s direction and striking him in the upper body. He died from his injuries in hospital.
Police have since arrested Devvin James Worthington, 23, and Christian Abraham Boyd, 24.
Both have been charged with second-degree murder, several breaches and firearm-related offences.
The two remain in police custody.
