Girl, 14, Charged After Carrying Large Knife

Winnipeg Police CrestA 14-year-old girl is in custody after police say she was in possession of a large knife.

The incident happened Monday at around 1 p.m. in the 2600 block of Ness Avenue.

A group of youth from a nearby school witnessed the weapon, while a bystander was able to disarm and detain the youth until police arrived.

The teen has been charged with possession of a weapon and failing to comply with conditions of an undertaking.

She remains in custody and no injuries were reported.
