WINNIPEG — The Pan Am Clinic is on the move after outgrowing its cramped and outdated facility on Poseidon Bay.
The clinic has partnered with the Reh-Fit Centre to sign a long-term lease for a relocation on the southwest corner of Waverley Street and Taylor Avenue.
The $40 million building will be the Reh-Fit Centre’s primary tenant. The province will outfit it with approximately $45 million in medical equipment.
“The Pan Am Clinic and the Reh-Fit Centre are both innovative leaders in the delivery of specialized health services,” said Milton Sussman, president and CEO of the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority.
“This new initiative will allow health service providers and medical researchers to work together to develop new and innovative ways to ensure the highest-quality care is available for patients.”
The WRHA hopes the new building, located just east of the Reh-Fit Centre, will open within the next three to four years.
Plans for the old Pan Am Clinic haven’t been determined yet.
