Winnipeg Police CrestA 57-year-old man was assaulted by a group of motorcyclists on Mulvey Avenue, Winnipeg police say.

The alleged assault took place October 18 as the man was driving his Toyota Camry in the area of Daly Street North and Mulvey Avenue.

Police say the driver was heading southbound when he made a U-turn at Mulvey Avenue at around 5 p.m. He proceeded northbound towards Corydon Avenue when he was then surrounded by nearly 10 men on sport bike motorcycles. One of the men began kicking his door, while another attempted to enter the vehicle.

The man was assaulted in the upper body when the door was eventually opened.

Police say it appears the bikers may have been speeding and quickly caught up to the Camry after it completed the U-turn, nearly causing an accident.

No arrests have been made.

Anyone with information is asked to contact investigators at (204) 986-2877 or Crime Stoppers at (204) 786-TIPS (8477).
