WINNIPEG — CUPE Local 500 has named Gord Delbridge as its new president.
Delbridge was elected Monday night and works in the City of Winnipeg’s Planning, Property and Development Department.
He replaces outgoing president Mike Davidson, who recently announced he would not be seeking re-election after serving terms.
“It is an honour for me to have been elected to lead the largest CUPE Local in Manitoba,” said Delbridge. “There are many challenges ahead and I pledge to continue the progress our Local has made in our fight to defend public services in our community.”
CUPE Local 500 represents about 6,000 members who work for the City of Winnipeg and other organizations.
