Winnipeg Harvest will be the beneficiary of donations provided by the generous arts community this holiday season.
The Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, Manitoba Centennial Centre Corporation and the Royal Winnipeg Ballet have partnered with the food bank to collect donations now until December 29.
Bins will be located in the lobby at all performances. Patrons who bring a tin for the bin to any WSO performance will receive a coupon valid for one half-price ticket with the purchase of another at regular price.
Winnipeg Harvest bins will be present at:
- All WSO concerts, November 22 to December 13
- RCAF Band Jet Stream Christmas Concert With Loreena Mckennitt, December 9 (7 p.m.)
- Steve Bell Christmastide, December 17 (8 p.m.)
- RWB’s Nutcracker, December 19-23 & 27-28
Manitoba has the second-highest percentage of children using the food bank at 41.9 percent as of March 2015.
Last year, Winnipeg Harvest distributed 13.7 million pounds of food.
