Manitoba Trailer Manufacturer Expanding Economic Footprint

December 2, 2015 7:04 AM | News

Big Tex TrailersA Manitoba-based trailer manufacturer is expanding its reach to dealers, distributors and retail customers in Manitoba and into Saskatchewan.

Big Tex Trailers specializes in light and medium duty trailers and has leased more than 70 acres of property in Griswold on the south side of the Trans-Canada Highway west of Brandon.

“We’ve outgrown our current five-acre footprint in MacGregor, Manitoba,” said Keith McLean, president of Big Tex Trailers of Canada.

McLean says the company has participated in both Canadian and U.S. markets to offset the affects of the weak loonie.

Big Tex has partnered with several Manitoba manufacturing plants to sell wholesale trailer parts to Big Tex in Mount Pleasant, Texas. The trailers will be brought back into Canada after final assembly to be sold in local markets.
