A new year’s charity dodgeball tournament in Winnipeg will allow children to attend summer camp without the financial barrier.

Dodgeball Winnipeg and the Canadian Dodgeball Association have teamed up for “Ball’d Lang Syne” on January 3, 2016 to benefit the Sunshine Fund.

“We are excited to introduce Winnipeg players to international style rules,” says CDA Manitoba representative Mat Klachefsky.

“We are happy to support a great cause like the Sunshine Fund at the same time.”

The day-long tournament will feature various skills competitions, including hardest throw, last person standing, the dodge gauntlet, and an accuracy toss. All skill levels are invited to participate.

The tournament at Sturgeon Heights Community Centre, 210 Rita Street, runs from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Registration is $120 per team before December 18 and $140 afterwards. Teams belonging to the Canadian Dodgeball Association will receive a $20 discount.
