The doors to the Manitoba Legislative Building are being thrown open to the public on Saturday, December 12.
The annual open house will include a look inside offices of the premier and MLAs, the party caucus rooms and offices, the offices of the lieutenant-governor, speaker of the legislature and the clerk of the legislative assembly as well as the legislative reading room.
Children’s activities are planned in Room 254 and a photographer will snap festive photos in the Rotunda.
Choirs from École Constable Edward Finney School, École Île-Des-Chênes School, John Pritchard School, École LaVérendrye School, and Niji Mahkwa School will perform on the grand staircase throughout the afternoon.
The MLA choir will be led by speaker Daryl Reid at 3 p.m. on the grand staircase.
The open house runs from 1-3 p.m. The event is free, but donations for the Christmas Cheer Board are encouraged.
