The Winnipeg Goldeyes have acquired infielder Ridge Hoopii-Haslam from the Gary SouthShore RailCats in exchange for outfielder Tillman Pugh.
Hoopii-Haslam, 21, is a rookie who batted .244 in 78 games for the Grand Prairie AirHogs last summer, seeing action at four different positions.
“Ridge is a very good rookie player that is coming off a fine season with Grand Prairie,” said Goldeyes’ manager Rick Forney. “Ridge can play multiple infield positions, and showed the ability to produce extra base hits in his first season as a pro.”
The Hawaii native added 12 doubles, three triples, seven home runs, 24 RBI, and 15 stolen bases.
Pugh hit .305 with one home run and 19 RBI in 36 games for the Goldeyes after the team acquired him from the RailCats on July 30 in exchange for cash.
