Goldeyes Sign Pitchers Shimo, Becker-Menditto

Winnipeg Goldeyes LogoThe Winnipeg Goldeyes have signed a pair of right-handed pitchers to the 2016 roster.

Brandon Shimo and Kevin Becker-Menditto will suit up for the Fish once the snow melts from Shaw Park in the spring.

Shimo split time with the Can-Am League’s Sussex County Miners and Frontier League’s Evansville Otters in 2015.

Becker-Menditto was a rookie last season for the Can-Am League’s Garden State Grays. Also a side-arm right-hander, Becker-Menditto struck out six and walked three in 11.0 innigns over 11 relief appearances.

“Brandon and Kevin are both classified as rookies,” said Goldeyes’ manager Rick Forney.

“We are expecting them to come and compete for jobs and hopefully make our bullpen deeper.”
