Manitoba Lt.-Gov. Janice Filmon will welcome visitors to her first public levee on January 1.

The traditional event is set for the Manitoba Legislative Building between 2:30-4 p.m.

Besides a meet and greet with Filmon, other activities include complimentary sleigh rides around the legislature, and a performance by magician Evan Morgan in the Rotunda throughout the afternoon.

Premier Greg Selinger will join Filmon in the Blue Room, which is the historic receiving room for guests to the lieutenant-governor’s office.

Donations of canned and non-perishable food to support Winnipeg Harvest will be collected in the front lobby of the legislature.
