‘Billy Elliott’ Musical Debuting on MTC Mainstage

Billy Elliott The MusicalWINNIPEG — The cast of the upcoming “Billy Elliott The Musical” will hit the mainstage at the Manitoba Theatre Centre next week.

The musical opened in London 10 years ago and has been seen by millions across the world, portraying the story of a young boy who triumphs over adversity.

The production stars Ethan Ribeiro and Eamon Stocks as Billy — sharing the demanding role as lead actor. The two moved to Winnipeg last September to receive dance training in the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School’s professional division program before beginning rehearsals at Royal MTC in December.

MTC artistic director Steven Schipper is leading the musical.

The show runs January 14 to February 6.
