The Manitoba Bison men’s hockey team is back on the ice after the holiday break, looking to sweep the Alberta Golden Bears in a two-game series.
Manitoba hosts both games at Wayne Fleming Arena as they begin the second half of the 2015-16 conference season, where they look to improve on fifth place in conference standings.
The Bisons enter the weekend with a 7-7-2 record for 16 points and only three points out of a fourth spot. Alberta visits with a 12-3-1 record and have won six consecutive games — good for second place in Canada West.
Puck drops at 7 p.m. tonight and 4 p.m. Saturday.
Bisons volleyball also in town
Next door at Investors Group Athletic Centre, the Manitoba Bison men’s and women’s volleyball squads play host to the UBC Okanagan Heat this weekend. The men play tonight at 6 p.m., with the women following at 7:30 p.m. Saturday’s matches start at 3 p.m. for men and 4:30 p.m. for women.
