The Manitoba government is spending $15 million to further the development of Canada’s Diversity Gardens at Assiniboine Park.
The gardens are the final major phase of the Assiniboine Park Conservancy’s $200 million redevelopment campaign for the park.
“We embrace this project because it will become a place for learning, gathering and reflecting on our own diversity, as well as a major tourist draw,” Premier Greg Selinger said.
The gardens will be located in the southeast corner of Assiniboine Park, and will include a living classroom where schools can participate in environmental education programs year-round.
