The Downtown Winnipeg BIZ’s farmers’ market is returning for a fourth year and will grow to 85 vendors.

The market will launch January 28 until December and be held at Manitoba Hydro Place.

“Every year, employees and their customers, as well as local residents, look forward to visiting the farmers’ market at Manitoba Hydro, and it’s just another reason to enjoy downtown in the summer,” said Stefano Grande, executive director of the Downtown BIZ.

“Farmers’ markets not only help to support the local economy, they reduce transportation costs and food waste.”

The market will run the second Thursday of each month: January 28, February 11, March 10, April 7, May 5 (indoors), before moving outside every Thursday from June to the end of September.

The market will head back indoors on October 6 & 20, November 3 and December 1 & 15.

Shoppers can make their local purchases from vendors between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
