Based solely on diner reviews, Winnipeg’s 529 Wellington is extremely well liked.
The upscale restaurant has made the list of OpenTable’s “100 Best” list, with winners in seven provinces.
The WOW! Hospitality eatery was the only Manitoba restaurant on the list, which makes up a piece of the 275,000 restaurant reviews submitted by OpenTable diners for approximately 1,600 restaurants across Canada.
“From coast to coast, Canadians love to experience great food in exceptional restaurants,” said Ziv Schierau, head of national accounts for OpenTable Canada.
“Sixty-three winners from last year have again been selected by OpenTable diners as part of the 100 Best Restaurants in Canada, but all the restaurants on this list exemplify the best of what Canadian dining has to offer: incredible food and hospitality, an unforgettable culture and a dining experience that has guests returning again and again.”
French fare was the most popular choice for the second year in a row, with Canadian and Italian cuisines placing second and third. Japanese, Portuguese, Spanish and Syrian cuisines ranked in the top 100 as well.
