WINNIPEG — The second leg of the Red River Mutual Trail has opened up from Queen Elizabeth Way to Churchill Park.
Skaters can now glide a total of three kilometres along the Red River, weather permitting. If Mother Nature continues to play nice, the plan is to reach the St. Vital Bridge.
A second skating rink has also opened in The Forks’ Historic Port. All rinks and trails are groomed daily and conditions are updated at TheForks.com or by following @RRMTrail on Twitter.
Skate rentals are available for $5 (adults and seniors) and $3 (children) at Iceland Skate Rentals inside The Forks.
