Winnipeg has a new radio station on its FM dial.
94.3 The Drive launched Friday after a re-brand from the former FAB 94.3. The Jim Pattison Broadcast Group station will continue to spin the greatest hits of the 70s and 80s and will also launch a new morning show.
Kerri Salki and Trevor Gowen will wake listeners up each weekday morning, while mid-days will be hosted by Alix Michaels. Kelly Parker will handle the drive shift late afternoons.
“We are extremely excited to launch The Drive on the historic 94.3 FM radio frequency,” said general manager Heidi Rasmussen. “Furthermore, we believe this re-brand will improve the identity and overall energy of 94.3 while the familiarity of the music will provide a reliability quotient that is key to building our audience.
The station has teased the launched for several weeks with inconspicuous billboards simply stating “The Drive.”
