Winnipeg police officers will be on hand at two city malls this weekend to educate the public on the Neighbourhood Watch and Block Parent programs.
As well as dishing out crime prevention tips, officers will inform the community on how such programs can combat crime and add a layer of security to Winnipeg neighbourhoods.
The Neighbourhood Watch program is meant to reduce residential break and enters and other property-related crime, while the Block Parent program acts as a safe location for children in need.
Officers will be at Polo Park Shopping Centre on Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. and St. Vital Centre on Sunday from noon to 4 p.m.
