Two Arrested in Southdale Marijuana Grow-Op Bust

Winnipeg Police CrestTwo people are facing drug charges after Winnipeg police raided a marijuana grow-op in Southdale on Tuesday.

Police attended a home in the 100 block of Driftwood Bay, where they located 338 marijuana plants worth an estimated $378,560.

Police also seized 565 grams of dry marijuana worth about $5,650, over $10,600 in Canadian currency, $426 in U.S. currency and grow-op equipment worth $8,330.

A 38-year-old woman and 41-year-old man, both from Winnipeg, face charges of producing a schedule substance, possession of a scheduled substance for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime.

Both suspects were released on a promise to appear.
