Winnipeg-based New Flyer Industries has landed a $50 million U.S. contract from the Massachusetts Bay Transport Authority.
The bus manufacturer will build 44 XDE60 Xcelsior buses (88 EUs), with options for up to an additional 46 XDE60 (92 EUs) valued at approximately $71 million.
The MBTA currently operates over 1,000 buses, 709 of which were built by New Flyer or its subsidiary NABI.
