Drivers fed up with waiting for a train to pass at Waverley Street and Taylor Avenue may know next week whether the much-needed underpass in the area will come to fruition.
The city’s executive policy committee on Wednesday approved funding for the $155 million project in south Winnipeg.
City council will now vote on the plan during a meeting on February 24.
The provincial and federal governments have already committed funding for the underpass.
If council doesn’t hold up crossing arms on the project, construction will start next year.
