The city opened its newest 4R depot Thursday at the Brady Road Landfill site.
The Brady 4R Winnipeg Depot is meant for residential customers only, and accommodates the free drop off of recyclable and reuse materials.
For materials that can’t be recycled, dropping off garbage is $61 per tonne with a $15 minimum.
“With the opening of the first 4R Winnipeg Depot, Winnipeggers will have another convenient option to reduce, reuse and recycle,” said Brian Mayes, chair of the standing policy committee on water and waste.
“This new service will make it easier for all of us to lessen our impact on the environment.”
The depot is located at 1901 Brady Road, south of the Perimeter Highway. It will operate daily from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. until March 31. Summer hours will kick in after that, with the depot closing at 8 p.m. daily.
