Winnipeg police are looking to speak with a man they say was spotted taking pictures of children near a school on Wednesday.
The principal of Princess Margaret School and a nine-year-old child met with officers in the 300 block of Hawthorne Avenue at around 2:10 p.m. The child said she was playing in the school yard when she saw a man taking photos of children, which was also observed by teachers.
The man told the principal he had recently moved to the area and was looking for a school for his children to attend. He left without further incident.
He is described as Caucasian, between 40-50 years of age, 5’11” with a medium build. He was wearing a black jacket with fur on the hood, black toque and black mitts.
