Four new homegrown food vendors will join the Winnipeg Folk Festival this year.
Twenty-six vendors in total will serve up local, organic and fair trade at the festival, running July 7-10 at Birds Hill Park.
New additions this year include Better Than Baba’s, serving up perogies and cabbage rolls, Cocoa Beans Bakeshop for vegan and gluten-free French toast, muffins and smoothies, and KYU Grill will offer a choice of meat, yam or tofu grilled skewers served in a sweet bun on a bed of ginger slaw and finished with a variety of Japanese toppings. For a cool treat, roving Pop Cart sellers will have varieties of fruity and creamy handmade ice pops.
A complete list of new and returning vendors is available at WinnipegFolkFestival.ca.
Tickets for the 2016 Winnipeg Folk Festival go on sale March 11.
