The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have extended the contract of defensive back Chris Randle.

Randle enters his third season with the Bombers and the fifth in the league.

“Chris Randle is one of our most valuable players, on either side of the football,” said general manager Kyle Walters.

“What he brings to the football field, his intensity, athleticism and skill, along with the intangibles that he carries inside our locker room, all of those are hard to find in one individual. He’s a key piece of our organization moving forward, and extending his contract is very key for us.”

Randle accumulated 37 tackles, seven special teams tackles, one interception, and one sack in ten games last season, before suffering a season-ending knee injury.

Randle was acquired in a trade with Calgary the day before free agency opened in 2014.
