Man Charged After Firing Shots at People Near Jubilee & Osborne

Winnipeg Police CrestA 19-year-old Winnipeg man is in police custody after firing gunshots at several people Saturday afternoon.

The shootings happened shortly after 12 p.m. in the area of Jubilee Avenue and Osborne Street.

Police say the suspect met up with a 19-year-old man and 17-year-old girl known to him near the St. Vital Bridge, where he fired shots at the 19-year-old but missed. The two victims fled on foot to the female’s home.

The suspect later ran into family members of the teen girl and the 19-year-old man again near Walker Avenue and Daly Street South where he fired shots towards their van. No one was hit, but police were already in the area and closed in on that location.

Officers found the suspect near Nassau Street South and Walker Avenue and had to use a Taser during the arrest when the man became combative. They also located the firearm used.

Two officers received treatment for minor injuries suffered during the arrest

Bradley Lewis Hale remains in custody charged with several offences, including four counts of attempted murder.
