The police canine unit tracked down two suspects on Wednesday accused of stealing a pickup truck earlier in the day.
The Toyota Tundra was stolen at around 7:15 a.m. from the 1600 block of Pritchard Avenue.
Officers spotted the truck at around 6 p.m. in the area of Logan Avenue and Keewatin Street. The suspects parked the truck at the rear of the 1800 block of Elgin Avenue West and fled on foot.
The canine unit led police to their location and Dallas Garret Slater, 21, and Doryan Joseph Thomas, 20, were taken into custody.
Both Winnipeg men face charges of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and failing to comply with a probation order.
The suspects remain in custody.
