A switchover to a new substation on Sunday, March 6 will interrupt power to approximately 1,700 Manitoba Hydro customers in Elmwood.
The switch to the new Martin Avenue substation will occur at around 6 a.m. and last for about 30 minutes.
The approximate boundary of the area that will be affected by the outage is as follows:
• Manhattan and Castle Avenues to the north
• Nairn Avenue to the south
• Stapleton Street to the east
• Gateway Road to the west
Hydro says a few customers just outside the boundary may also be affected by the outage. Traffic signals on both Nairn Avenue and Talbot Avenue, between Grey and Panet Road, will also be affected.
Hydro is also cutting power to areas of the West End on Sunday between 6 a.m. and 7 a.m.
The outage will affect 665 customers in an area from Sherbrook Street west to Toronto Street and Ellice Avenue north to Sargent Avenue.
